Odisha CM Condoles Death Of Passengers In Himchal Accident

21 June 2019

Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik condoled the death of 30 passengers who died after a bus skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday.

He tweeted, “Deeply anguished by the tragic loss of precious lives in the bus accident in #Kullu district of #HimachalPradesh. Wish the bereaved families have courage to overcome the irreparable loss and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.

An overloaded private mini bus skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge in Banjar area of Kullu district. Passengers were also sitting on its rooftop. Scarcity of buses and poor frequency of government-run buses in this remote district are blamed for overloading of public transport vehicles.
