Rayagada: Launching a scathing attack at the Centre during his election campaign in Rayagada and Gajapati, Odisha Chief Minister cum supremo of Biju Janata Dal Naveen Patnaik pointed fingers at Centre’s negligence towards Odisha and said that all Central leaders are ‘Biradi Baishnab’ (hypocrites).

After conducting road shows in Rayagada's Gunupur and Bissam Cuttack and Gajapati's Mohana, he addressed public meetings at all places where he said, “For the poor people, centre’s BJP has no remorse. We have AAHAR scheme which the Centre refused to fund. The State government has been funding the program entirely and we also have the Rs 1 per kg rice scheme. Centre refused to give rice to 30 lakh people. We are giving rice to everyone.”

“In addition to that, women are getting Rs 7 lakh worth health benefits under Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana. For drinking water, Centre is giving Rs 1000 crore but State is giving Rs 12,000 cr. For irrigation, State is giving Rs 20,000 crore and Centre is giving only Rs 250 crore,” he added.

He also reminded people, “There was a lot of destruction during cyclone ‘Titli’ but Centre gave assistance to Andhra first. Central leaders are all hypocrites.”

He concluded, “4 crore Odia people are my family. I hope you bless me and BJD during the elections by casting your vote on the conch shell symbol.”
