Bhubaneswar: As the Central Government is allegedly dilly-dallying over the construction of second bridge over Brahmani river at Panposh linking the steel city of Rourkela in Sundargarh parliamentary constituency, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday assured to take up the matter with Centre and if at all the latter fails to do so, State Government will construct it from own resources.
This assurance was given by the Chief Minister to a high level delegation from Sundargarh district led by former minister and senior BJD MLA Mangala Kisan.
The team met the Chief Minister at the State Secretariat here and discussed about the second bridge on Brahmani in Rourkela.
The Chief Minister assured the delegation that he would again take up the matter with the Government of India and if they (Centre) are not serious, the State Government will construct the bridge out of its own resources.
In his media reactions after meeting the delegation, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said, “I’ll take up this bridge matter with the Central Government. If they are not serious about it, we’ll build the bridge from the State Government fund.”
