Koraput: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday announced three major bridge projects in Koraput district. While addressing a huge gathering of Biju Yuva Vahini at Jeypore, Naveen announced the bridge projects and Telengiri medium irrigation project worth Rs 952.85 crore.
Naveen announced three bridges over Muran river on Girilaguma-Duarasuni road, near Kokab reservoir on Nandpur-Lamtaput-Banamaliput road and Kolab reservoir on Koraput-Suku road.
The Telengiri medium irrigation project would address the agricultural needs of farmers of 52 villages in Jeypore and Boriguma Blocks. This project would provide water to 9,952 hectares of land in both Kharif and Rabi seasons.
On the occasion, the CM inaugurated total 31 welfare projects commissioned at a cost of Rs 1136.41 crore (including Telengiri medium irrigation project). Naveen laid the foundation stones of 94 development projects worth Rs 749 crore in the district.
