Bhadrak: In an uncanny incident, a clash ensued between the locals of Dhamnagar and the police over the DJ played during the annual ‘Dolamelana’. In this festival, the locals gather after Holi in Chudakuti area and carry out a procession of local deity with music and festivity.

On Sunday evening, the festival was organized and started off peacefully. After some time, the police tried to stop them.

As per the police sources, loud music was banned in the area and the people playing DJ did not permission for it. So, the police tried to stop them but when the locals did not give in, they allegedly resorted to vandalizing the musical instruments.

Around 15 persons got injured after the scuffle broke out between the police and locals.

The agitated locals burned tyres and blocked the Satabhauni-Dhamnagar road. To ease out the prevailing tension, additional 4 platoons of police have been deployed in the area.
