Bhubaneswar: In the recent chit fund scam, State Finance Minister Sashi Bhushan Behera on Tuesday said that the State Government has assured to return the money of small investors. The process of identifying the people who are needed to get refunded is on its last stage.

Reportedly, the order will be directed and passed by the Governor through the Tehsildar by the respective Revenue Inspectors (RI).

State Finance Minister said, “The small investors who have invested an amount of less than Rs 10, 000 will be refunded very soon. According to the surveys at the ground level, the RIs have almost completed the process of identifying the small investors who are to be refunded. In the districts of Cuttack and Balasore, this process is already over and they will be getting the refund very soon.”

On the other hand, Congress MLA Anshuman Mohanty said, “The State Government has announced of the corpus fund which was not required at all and it is nothing but people’s money that the government is misusing. Till date no chit fund money has been refunded and many a times it has been seen that many ruling party MPs are involved in the scam. Hence, even if the government is announcing things, the people will get nothing out of it.”
