Bhubaneswar: A team of teachers have participated in the pretesting training of forthcoming census to be conducted in 2021. The programme is headed By Deputy Commissioner for Census charge, Shyama Sundar Sethy.

This programme is being attended by 40 Government school teachers. The training will be for four days from 6th to 9th August 2019. The training is being facilitated by Assistant Director Census, Rajendra Kumar Sahoo.

“Basis of the training is to orient participants on methodology of enumeration in the field. Following the orientation, all participants will be into the field from 12th August to 4th October 2019. The rigourious training will be a lab to land model,” Sethy said.

Besides regular duties the participants will be responsible for such scientific pretesting of future census. Their field would be old ward no 15 of Bhubaneswar where they will be covering Saliasahi, Nayapali and IRC areas, divided into 29 enumeration blocks.

The participants will do house listing and population enumeration. Based on the pretesting findings authority and their experts will modify the methodology to make it more simple, quick correct and time-bound information gathering tool, Sethy added.
