Odisha Cabinet Nods For Increasing Salary Of Varsity, Govt & Aided College Teachers

Bhubaneswar: The Cabinet of Odisha Government, chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, today accorded its seal of approval of 12 important proposals.

Prominent among them is increasing the salary of teachers working in different State-run universities, colleges and aided colleges.

As per the press briefings made by Odisha Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi soon after the vital meeting, “State Cabinet has approved the report of the Fitment Committee for Revision of pay scales of Teachers in Universities and colleges who are in receipt of UGC Scale. There will be an approximate additional expenditure of Rs 136 crores per annum.”

“Near about 5203 teachers working in different State Universities, Government and Non-Government Aided Colleges will be benefitted,” the Chief Secretary informed.

It was also stated that the decision will be implemented with retrospective effect from January 2016.

The Cabinet also approved the appointment of Dr (Mrs) Namita Mohanty and Sri Purna Chandra Pathy as Members in Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).

Similarly, the Cabinet also approved some more important proposals: a) Amendment for extending the timeline from 3 years to 4 years for continuation of private dealer necessary for smooth functioning of PDS in the State.

b) Alienation of Government land measuring Ac 2.045 dec in mouza Tangi under Tangi Tahsil in favour of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India on a token premium of Re 1/- for construction of developing training and residential facilities for students of AIIMS, Bhubaneswar.

c) Proposal for enhancement of corpus of Odisha Contigency Fund through an Ordinance amending the Odisha Contigency Fund Act, 1967 (Odisha Act 18 of 1967.

d) Odisha Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) Policy.

e) Proposal for grant of permission to Tourism Department for temporary sub-lease of Government land measuring Ac 0.600 dec in Mouza Bankimuhan, Unit No 26, Puri Town of Puri Tahsil in favour of Sri Sudarshan Pattnaik for setting up of “Sand Art Park”.
