Bhubaneswar: Odisha-born 1996 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Arun Kumar Sahu has been appointed as the new High Commissioner of India to the Commonwealth of Dominica with his residence at Port of Spain.
"Shri Arun Kumar Sahu (IFS:1996), presently High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, has been concurrently accredited as the next High Commissioner of India to the Commonwealth of Dominica, with residence in Port of Spain," says a press communiqué issued by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) at New Delhi on Monday.
Prior to being posted as the High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago Sahu was posted as the Deputy High Commissioner in the High Commission of India at Ottawa in Canada.
The Odia diplomat was also posted as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Deputy Director General, Indian Council for Cultural Relations.
He had been also posted in different capacities in Indian Embassies in Beijing, Tehran, and London.
Sahu is an alumnus of Ravenshaw College, Ravenshaw Collegiate School in Cuttack and Chandra Sekhar Behera Zilla School in Sambalpur.
He holds a Master’s Degree in War in Modern World from King’s College London and a Master’s degree in Linguistics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.
