Ganjam: In yet another woeful incident that brings to light the despair state of girl child in this country, the body an abandoned girl child was recovered from bushes under the Baghua Bridge in Kotinada police limits here today morning.

After some locals spotted the girl child lying abandoned by the roadside, they immediately informed police officials who rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

The police also informed that the child was a new-born. It is being suspected that the child was dumped by its family members who did not want a girl; meanwhile further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
