Bhubaneswar: Hours after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released list of candidates for 99 Assembly constituencies of Odisha for the ensuing General Elections, supporters of party leader Amiya Dash thronged the party's State Office and staged dharna in front of it for not giving him a ticket.

The agitators questioned are the party leaders indulged in horse-trading and even threatened to obstruct the elections if the party does not reconsider its decision to give ticket to Amiya, who was the party candidate from Ekamra-Bhubaneswar Assembly seat during the 2014 polls.

"We came to know yesterday that ticket to Amiya Dash, a strong leader from Ekamra-Bhubaneswar Assembly seat, has been denied. When we reached the party office to submit our grievance, we found it closed and all the leaders absent," said Anikent, a supporter of Dash.

The BJP had released list of candidates for the ensuing General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Odisha yesterday and had named Babu Singh, who had recently joined the party after quitting BJD, as its candidate for Ekamra-Bhubaneswar Assembly seat.
