Odisha Bags Krishi Karman Award

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has bagged Krishi Karman award for total foodgrain production in the year 2016-17 and 2017-18. The award will be presented at a special function in Tumkur at Bengaluru on Thursday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be presenting the award in the presence of Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.

Odisha was selected among other States for excellence in improving seed quality and providing the same to farmers on time, use the technology, better irrigation and infrastructure and improved agricultural productivity.

On behalf of Odisha, Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Minister Arun Sahu will be attending the function to receive the National award from the Prime Minister. The award consists of a trophy, citation and a cash amount of Rs 1 crore. Additional Chief Secretary and Agricultural Production Commissioner, Pradipta Mahapatra will accompany the Minister to Bengaluru to attend the event.
