Odisha: Astaranga Brutal Murder Case Ends In Conviction

Bhubaneswar: In a major achievement the Crime Branch has secured conviction in sensational Astaranga Murder case. In this case four members of a family including two small children were killed.

This case pertains gruesome murder of Dinabandhu Mallik, his wife and two minor daughters.

In September, 2015 the Crime Branch took charge of investigation from the local Police and a special Investigation team of was formed to investigate in to the case.

During the course of investigation it was ascertained that, the culprit after committing the murder had taken away some valuable articles and ornaments from the house of deceased Dinabandhu and fled.

CB team had arrested accused Himadri Sekhar Das and his wife Aisha Begum From Hailakhandi in Assam.

The investigation further revealed that one Fakir Mallik, a relative of Dinabandhu had developed a good relationship with Himadri during a train journey.

Investigation revealed that Fakir cooked up criminal conspiracy with Himadri and Aisha. The accused have been convicted under multiple Sections of the IPC including murder. The quantum of the punishment would be decided by the court on Friday (February 8).
