Bhubaneswar: Demanding cancellation of exams for the post of Assistant Section Officer (ASO) by Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC), hundreds of hopeful aspirants took to the streets today morning citing discrepancies in the exam process.

They demanded that the exam should be conducted again in online method and marched from Master Canteen to Lower PMG square. Holding placards of ‘OPSC down down’, ‘Chairman should resign’ and ‘We want CBI investigation’, a mass of students stated that their futures had been played with.

Girija Jena, convener of Ashayee Chhatra Chhatri Parishad said, “No CCTV cameras were in the exam halls. If cameras were there, then they were not functioning. Question papers were not sealed. Smart watches were sneaked into the halls as well. Divyang students should get scribes but that did not happen too. Our demand is that ASO exam should be conducted again online and OPSC Chairman should resign.”

Bainatha Chanda, a physically challenged student from Brahmapur’s Khallikote College said, “They did not allow us to take our writers into the exam hall. Neither did they provide us with scribes. So, we demand that the exam is conducted again but this time it should be completely online so that all discrepancies can be avoided.”
