Bhubaneswar: In a bid to create awareness and promote heart health to the general masses and to educate common man to fight against the cardiovascular disease (CVD) burden, Apollo Hospitals, Bhubaneswar has adopted an unique step of creating awareness on healthy heart.
Apollo Hospitals Bhubaneswar today flagged of a vehicle decked up on this year’s theme and message – ‘Be A Heart Hero’. Sudhir M. Diggikar, Central Region CEO, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited flagged off the campaign vehicle.
The aim of this campaign is that the vehicle en-route will highlight the importance of heart health and to educate, inspire and encourage people on heart-healthy living. The vehicle will cover 20 districts of the state like Khurda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Angul, Boudh, Subarnapur, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam and Puri.
As part of the journey the vehicle shall cover 20 major districts of Odisha and a distance of approximately 3000kms in 13days before returning back to our hospital on 30th September 2019.
A team would be travelling with the vehicle and conducting numerous programs of public interest with the sole aim of making people aware about the threat that heart disease pose today. When the vehicle comes back in the next two weeks, we expect to touch all major districts covering key industries, associations, public forums, gated communities, parks and other fraternity to spread the much needed awareness.
World Heart Day is observed on the 29th September of every year. World Heart Day is a global campaign during which individuals, families, communities, and governments around the world participate in activities to take charge of their heart health and that of others.
Through this campaign, the World Heart Federation unites people from all countries and backgrounds in the fight against the cardiovascular disease (CVD) burden and inspires and drives international action to encourage heart-healthy living across the world.
As the pioneers of healthcare in Asia and to continue our pledge on spreading awareness on Heart Health, a vehicle branded on the theme of this year shall be covering all major districts of our state, covering an arduous journey of about 3000kms over 13 days before returning back to Bhubaneswar, said Diggikar. “We would organize numerous mass connect programs en-route, aimed at heart-health education for the citizens. The objective is also to invoke the most important question: “What can I do right now to look after my heart and your heart?”, added Shri Diggikar.
