"How long shall we move around leaving our house? So I told my family members to sit at the Collector's office since we are his Praja (subjects). Our protection lies in his hands. He will deliver justice if he can't protect, we all will consume poison, we have no other option," said Pramod Sai, elder brother of Anup Sai.

He alleged that Raigad police is not allowing them to meet Anup and have threatened to put them all in jail.

Responding to a query from reporters that could there be a political motive behind Sai's arrest, the senior Sai remarked, “Well it could be".

"We are not going to budge from here, they will kill us," the senior Sai said.

"We are here seeking protection. Chhattisgarh police are harassing us," said Susama Deo, Anup Sai's wife.

"We are seeking protection against Chhattisgarh police's 'dadagiri'. I firmly believe that my father has never committed any murder. Entire Odisha knows what kind of a person he is. He can never do such thing," said Subham Sai, son of Anup Sai.
