Bhubaneswar: An abandoned newborn baby boy was rescued from Sashtri Nagar here today in the morning. Locals spotted the baby and immediately informed Childline officials, following which the baby was rushed to Capital Hospital.

However, due to absence of a ventilator in Sick Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of Capital Hopsital, the baby had to be shifted to Sishu Bhaban Hospital in Cuttack by a 108 Ambulance.

While Childline officials are accompanying the baby, the identity of the baby and his parents is yet to be ascertained.
