Mayurbhanj: In a wildlife trafficking busting operation, three pangolin scales were seized by forest officials under Udala forest range in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Sunday evening.
Six persons were arrested and two bikes were also seized from them. The culprits were identified as Nishikant Jena, Sudam Khandei, Sukun Tudu, Guru Charan, Rabi Patra and Prashant Mishra.
The forest officials had laid a trap to nab the culprits. They posed as customers and conducted raids in Balichhatra village and Brundgadi village. As per sources, the accused persons had struck a deal to smuggle the pangolin scales for Rs 7 lakhs.
