Bolangir: In a shocking incident, the body of a six-year-old boy was found last night lying in a ditch of a rivulet flowing through this headquarters town. While the deceased was missing since yesterday morning, the retrieved body has grievous injury marks and blood was oozing out.

According to reports, the incident has taken place under Bolangir Town Police Station limits.

As per the FIR filed yesterday, the six-year-old son of Jhagdu Swain, living in Chimnibhati Pada, went missing in the morning hours following which the family members launched a frantic search, but to no avail. Eventually, they lodged a missing report with the Town Police Station.

Late in the evening, the locals discovered the body of the missing boy (named Jitu) lying in an abandoned ditch of the Laxmijor (rivulet). Police was informed. The Town Police Station personnel retrieved the body and sent it for post mortem to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) here. Investigation is still on.

While the head of the child was found having sustained injuries marks, blood was oozing out.

Locals argued that it is impossible for the child to venture into the spot alone. Hence, circumstantial evidence hints at murder of the child and the family members are also suspecting so.

Police is investigation into the matter as per the suspicion.
