Ganjam: As many as six persons including five women were arrested today in connection with a cyber crime fraud case. One Deepak Kumar Panda of Berhampur Sadar area was duped of over Rs 69,000 by a financial company that had promised him a loan.

According to reports, Deepak wanted to buy a tractor and wanted to avail a loan for the same. From one of his friends, Deepak got the number of South India Finance. Soon, the female officials of the financial organization started talking to him over the phone. They told him to deposit his important documents and Rs 69,000 verification. As soon as he did that, they did not contact him again.

Deepak has alleged, “I had actually given them around Rs 1,20,000 but I have proof of only Rs 69000.”

Getting suspicious, Deepak filed complaint in cyber police station. A team led by IIC Kalpana Kaunri went to Bhubaneswar and raided the office of the company. They recovered the money and the documents from the spot. Mobile phones and SIM cards used for the crime were also seized. Further probe into the matter revealed that several other people have been duped by the same company.
