Balasore: The forest officers of Kuldiha Wildlife Sanctuary in Odisha’s Balasore arrested 5 poachers and seized venison (deer meat) and two country-made guns on Tuesday night while patrolling.

Notably, three groups of poachers found their way inside the sanctuary under Nilagiri sub-division taking advantage of the rains. As the officers were on patrol, they caught two poachers red-handed extracting meat of the deer near Sindur Goura, two near Kadamba Shila with a gun and one near the Tenda Bita region.

The others managed to escape from the clutches of the forest rangers.

SCF Laxman Kumar Pradhan informed that the arrested poachers would be forwarded to court on Wednesday.
