Odisha: 5 Members Of Dance Group Killed In Kendrapara Road Mishap

Kendrapara: In a shocking incident, five members of a dance group were killed after the car they were travelling in rammed into a truck near Alabanka chhak under Derabis police limits here late last night.

The deceased have been identified as Rajesh Jena, Debasis Sethi, Deepak Dhal and Harekrushna Sahu. The fifth person's identity is yet to be ascertained.

The incident occurred around 2 am in the night on National Highway-5, when the group was on its way to attend the Chandikhole Jatra after finishing an annual function in Kendrapara. Reportedly, there were a total of 6 people in the car when the incident took place after the driver lost control over the wheels and vehicle rammed into a truck.

While 5 persons died on the spot, another sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. Meanwhile the bodies have been taken to District headquarters Hospital for post-mortem.
