Odisha: 4-Ft-Long Indian Rat Snake Found Inside Car In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A 4-feet-long rat snake was rescued from the boot of a car in VSS Nagar area of the capital city today morning.

The incident occurred in front the Telecom Training Centre when one Kishore Jena smelled something suspicious in his car. His friend, who was in the shotgun seat, also said that the car smelled weird.

They started looking around and found a yellow colored reptile in the boot of the car. They panicked and immediately called the Snake Helpline following which its members reached the spot and rescued the reptile after removing the spare tyre (stepney).

General Secretary of Snake Helpline, Subhendu Mallick said, “After rescuing the snake from the car, we identified it as an Indian Rat Snake. It is not poisonous and is thus harmless.”

Reportedly two days back, a 13-ft-long King Cobra was rescued the premises of a house in Angul.
