Odisha: 20 Ft Whale Carcass Recovered From Beach In Puri

Puri: A 20-feet whale carcass was found on the Bali Harchandi beach today evening. The huge carcass left onlookers amazed as the dead mammal washed ashore at Moto village here.

A team of forest officials rushed to the spot from Bramhagiri and sent it for autopsy. The samples of the dead whale have been sent to Hyderabad for further examination.

The whale had decomposed to a great extent. While the cause of death of the whale is yet to be ascertained, it is assumed that the mammal died around 20 days back.

The whale is approximately 1 tonne is weight and 8-feet wide. Last year the bodies of two whales were recovered from the same area.
