Sundergarh: Due to dense fog situations in the State, as many as 11 vehicles collided in a domino effect one after another near Gadaposh Chhak under Kutra police limits late last night.

The incident occurred when visibility was low due to dense fog cover and two trucks collided. One of the truck drivers was trapped underneath the debris and died on the spot. On intimation, cops reached the place and started the rescue operation. Vehicular movement came to a standstill as police did their work.

During the halt, as many as 11 vehicles hit one another back-to-back including a Haiwa truck, auto and a pickup truck. The series accident occurred as the drivers of the speeding vehicles were not able to see due to poor visibility in the area, said sources.

Reports stated that several persons were injured and have been admitted to Kutra Community Health Centre (CHC) for treatment while cops and fire personnel are engaged in rescue operation.
