Jharsuguda: In yet another development in the mysterious death of popular Sambalpuri album actress Simran Singh, her parents today met Jharsuguda Collector and demanded a CBI probe of the case retaliating that she has been murdered.

After receiving their complaint, Collector Bibhuti Bhusan Pattnaik said, "It seems the family members of Simran are not satisfied with the probe process therefore they are demanding a Crime Branch probe. I will apprise the Home Department about the issue and final decision lies with the Government."

Meanwhile, Burla Police has also registered a murder case against Simran’s beau Yug Suna based on the complaint of Simran's father, who has alleged that she was being tortured by her husband and in-laws.

Yug had been earlier detained by Belpada Police in Bolangir on January 4 for interrogation into the matter. Later on January 5, he was arrested by Jharsuguda Police after hours of intense grilling.

Simran’s body with multiple injury marks had been found under Mahanadi bridge near Goira Matha on January 3. Simran, who has featured in several Sambalpuri albums, was in a relationship with Yug and had married him in the recent past.

A voice message of Simran, suspected to be her last message, had also came to the fore after her death. In the message she is heard crying and addressing how she has completely broken down.

The person who she is addressing the message to is yet to be ascertained. However, it is being speculated that the message is for Yug, whose name she mentions twice in the audio.
