Cuttack: Soon after popular tele actress Nikita’s mysterious death, her husband Lipan Sahu was arrested and a latka (notice) was issued against Nikita’s in-laws asking them for appearance before the police. But in an interesting turn of events, Nikita’s sister-in-law (Lipan’s sister) Sonam Sahu has claimed that Nikita’s father and brother were also present at the spot during the incident.

“We received a phone call between 11.00-11.30 pm that might and we were informed that Nikita has jumped off the roof. There was a fight in the house following which she had rushed to the terrace. To prevent her from taking any extreme step, my brother Lipan, and Nikita’s brother and father held her for almost seven minutes. However, they couldn’t hold her anymore and she escaped,” Sonam said to the media.

She also claimed that her brother Lipan was innocent and said, ““If Nikita’s husband (my brother) pushed her from the roof, why was an FIR was not lodged immediately? My brother was in the hospital throughout night and day. Why Nikita’s family was behaving with him so nicely? I hope the truth prevails and I want investigation to be done on Nikita’s family as well because she died at her parents’ house after falling from the terrace.”

Sonam also said that Nikita’s mother used to create a lot of problems in her life and ignited fights between Nikita and her in-laws. Sonam’s media reaction came on Sunday, a day after the Chauliaganj police put up a latka (notice) at Nikita’s in-laws’ house. Nikita’s husband Lipan Sahu had been arrested earlier on charges of her murder, based on a complaint lodged by her father Sanatan Behera, who had alleged that Lipan had forcefully pushed Nikita off the terrace following an argument.
