Bhubaneswar: Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) Advisor Bijaya Kumar Sahoo is scheduled to visit some of the Adarsha Vidyalayas in Ganjam on Wednesday during the second day of his visit to the district to review the status of model schools.
Sahoo along with OAVS Director Raghuram R Iyer and Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange on Tuesday addressed the Principals of 22 Adarsha Vidyalayas, the Block Education Officers (BEO) of 22 Blocks and the District Education Officer (DEO), in a two days District-level Review Meeting.
He briefed about the mission of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for OAVs, that is to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the students, through the 5T approach like technology, transparency, teamwork, time and transformation. He also outlined the importance of the Adarsha Vidyalayas in building a better future for the students through technology, teachers training, infrastructure, enterprise resource planning (ERP), updated website etc.
The DEO, Ganjam presented the overall functioning of the Adarsha Vidyalaya in the district, including the present status of each school and the progress made so far. Each of the Principals, presented the status of their respective schools through power point presentation. It included various parameters on curricular and co-curricular progress.
Sahoo gave a presentation on the way forward for OAVS, about the websites, the ERP, the pedagogy, the annual planner, the activities planner as well as on how to prepare for board examination, and enhance all-round development through sports, clubs, house system, competitions etc. He also inspired the members present to reach the target of 100 per cent result and make the Adarsha Vidyalayas a role model for the country.
OAVS is an initiative of Government of Odisha to provide free quality education in English through CBSE curriculum to the students from class VI to XII, especially from semi-urban and rural areas, from across the state. It was established on September 19, 2015, as a society under The Society Registration Act of Odisha and founded by the Odisha Department of School and Mass Education.
Mr Sahoo will visit some of the Adarsha Vidyalaya in the district on 25th September 2019.
