Bhubaneswar: Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) Advisor Dr Bijaya Kumar Sahoo on Tuesday visited the Shree Harsha Memorial School For Deaf And Mute at Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar with his family in accordance with the initiative of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to spend time with underprivileged children.
Following the Chief Minister's suggestion, Dr Sahoo shared the mid-day meal (MDM) with the children of the special school. While donating a smart classroom for the children, he also shared stories with them and assured to get more help from State Government for extending more facilities in the school.
The children were extremely glad to have spent time with Dr Sahoo, an eminent educationist who is also founder of SAI International School in Bhubaneswar.
The Chief Minister had on October 22 advised his Ministers to have lunch with children at orphanages and schools while they are on official tours in the State. He had also personally celebrated this Diwali with children of Bhubaneswar-based SOS Village, one of the biggest orphanages in the State.
