Nor'wester Rain In Odisha: Tree Falls On House In Nuapada, Mother-Daughter Duo Killed

Nuapada: Nor'wester rain created havoc and claimed two lives here last night as a mother daughter duo was killed after a tree fell on their house at Bhandarpuri village under Jonka police limits. The deceased have been identified as Ganeshi and Tulasi Tandi.

Reportedly, thunderstorm and rain lashed the district last night uprooting several trees in the area. As the family was sleeping in the courtyard of their house, a peepal tree fell on them killing the woman and her daughter on the spot.

On intimation, fire officials rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies for post-mortem. Meanwhile, father Punit Ram Tandi has sustained critical injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).
