Bhubaneswar: Now non-resident Odia farmers who have registered under Paddy Procurement Automation System (P-PAS) for sale of surplus paddy during the 2019-20 Kharif marketing season can nominate any family member to carry out the procurement process on their behalf.
While registered farmers in the State are able to sell surplus paddy at procurement centres, it has come to the notice of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare (FSCW) Department that the registered farmers staying outside Odisha are not able to do the same.
In order to solve this issue FSCW department has decided that family members of such farmers can participate in the process on their behalf, stated Joint Secretary of the department, Bijay Kumar Prusty, in a letter to Registrar of Cooperative Societies and all District Collectors.
A nomination form in this regard has been issued by the department, added Prusty while urging the Registrar of Cooperative Societies and all District Collectors to take appropriate steps for its implementation.
