Bhubaneswar: In the wake of Bolangir district along with nine other districts of Odisha having made a mark in NITI Aayog’s June-July performance report, elated Odisha Government today claimed that efforts are still on for achieving more development in the districts.

In his media reactions, Odisha Planning & Convergence Minister Padmanabha Behera said, “The report of NITI Aayog is correct. Whatever is the fact has been reflected in NITI Aayog report.”

“A comparison can be made between the condition of our State 30 years ago and at present. It’s well evident,” he argued.

Responding to media query, the Minister informed, “Plannings are certainly going on how the groundwater level would increase and water could be conserved for development of agriculture. Budgetary allocations have already been made for several development works while execution of the various programmes and schemes has already begun by the State Government in the districts.”

Notably, the dashboard of NITI Aayog for the month of June-July has placed 10 districts of Odisha in the top 115 ‘Aspirational Districts’ list while Bolangir district’s performance has been marked to be remarkable. So far the basic infrastructure development yardstick is concerned, Bolangir has scored all India top position.

As per reports, NITI Aayog has measured the performance of the district under five yardsticks.

The other districts of Odisha having found a place in the NITI Aayog dashboard are Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada and Rayagada.
