Nilagiri: Hours after the face off between Nilagiri MLA Sukant Kumar Nayak and Tahsildar Sushrita Tudu over an eviction drive in the Nilagiri court premises, the lady official alleged misbehaviour and use of abusive language by the legislator and his associate.
Tudu said, she and other officials were carrying out an official eviction process of the makeshift 'moharir' (stamp vendor) offices set up at various places in the court premises to make space for a plantation programme when the MLA arrived and instead of asking about it properly he pointed fingers on her in a threatening manner.
On being asked about the misbehaviour allegations brought against her by the MLA, Tudu said that the MLA started it by pointing fingers at her and using abusive languages. She further alleged that an associate of the MLA identified as Babuli Sarangi used some filthy words which is a complete misbehaviour to a lady, let alone an officer or Tahsildar.
While the lady Tahsildar informed that she has apprised the matter to the District Collector, she has also lodged an FIR at the local police station accusing the legislator of making casteist remarks
Reportedly, the MLA and Tahsildar indulged in a verbal spat on Friday after the former protested the eviction drive carried out under the supervision of the Tahsildar. Later, Nayak sat on a hunger strike in front of the Sub Collector’s office alleging misbehaviour by the Tahsildar.
It was only after intervention of the District Collector that the MLA withdrew his agitation. He has also lodged a counter FIR alleging misbehaviour by the Tahsildar.
