Sonepur: In an unfortunate road mishap, three persons, including a woman who had recently given birth to a child, were killed after a collision between a motorcycle and a car at S Patrapali Chhak in Ulunda area here late last night.

The deceased have been identified as Pawan Bag and Naresh Bag of Bhatra area in Sambalpur district, and Suru Bhaena of Binika area.

After giving birth, Suru was returning home from the hospital with her four-day-old child when the car hit the two-wheeler. Suru's newborn baby girl too sustained injuries in the accident and is currently undergoing treatment in VIMSAR Hospital in Burla.

Tension gripped the spot as locals set the car on fire. On intimation, cops reached the spot and began a probe into the incident.
