Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, the New Delhi-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express caught on fire today afternoon near Tilkanagar, a few kilometers before reaching Rourkela railway station.

Reportedly, a short circuit in one of the compartments led to the fire. An alarm was raised as soon as passengers noticed smoke emerging from the AC panel of three-tier coach B-7. The entire coach had been filled with a blanket of smoke and the emergency windows had to be broken to let the smoke out. The train had left New Delhi station towards Bhubaneswar at 5:05 pm on Sunday.

On intimation, railway officials rushed to the spot. While all passengers were safely evacuated, loss to life or property is yet to be ascertained. Some passengers, who got off the train in a hurry, sustained injuries and bruises on their body, stated reports. A detailed enquiry into the matter has been ordered.
