Bhubaneswar: Another Naxal behind an attack, in which Doordarshan News cameraman Achyutanand Sahu, who hailed from Odisha and was killed last year, was arrested today.
Kesha Korram (32) was wanted in nine separate cases and carried a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head. He was arrested during a search operation in the forests near Dantewada by the Chhattisgarh Police. Landmines and detonators were seized upon his person.
Police sources said Kesha Korram is an active member of the Darabha Action Committee of the banned CPI-Maoist outfit. He is an expert in carrying out IED and detonator blast.
On October 30, 2018, two police personnel and a DD News cameraman were killed in a Naxal attack in poll-bound Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district. Two policemen were also injured in the incident, which took place in Nilawaya village under Aranpur police station.
Korram and his associates were involved in this attack. His fellow rebel Madvi Muyya was gunned down in an encounter in May this year. Muyya had a reward of Rs 8 lakh on his head and was also one of the masterminds behind the deaths of BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi and five police personnel.
