Naveen Patnaik Thanks People For Giving Him 5th Term, Urges All To Work For New Odisha

Bhubaneswar: All set to form the Government for a fifth time, Biju Janata Dal suremo Naveen Patnaik today took to Twitter and thanked the people of Odisha for giving him yet another opportunity to serve the State.

In the video message, Patnaik also called upon everyone and said, “Let us all come forward and build a new Odisha with concerted efforts.”

Patnaik submitted his resignation (from the previous term) to Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal on Friday. Prof Lal accepted the resignation of Naveen and his Council of Ministers and requested him to continue in office till the formation of the new Government. The new government’s oath-taking will likely be on May 29.

Out of 146 Assembly seats that went to polls, BJD got 112 seats while BJP bagged 23 and Congress secured 8 seats. The BJD also performed well in Lok Sabha elections as it bagged 12 seats to its name.
