Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi today and said that the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) will do very well in the State again. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday had confidently said that in this election season, Odisha will be the second Tripura where Bharatiya Janata Party had won a majority in the last Assembly elections by ending 25 years of CPI (M)-led Left Front’s uninterrupted rule in Tripura.

Responding to Modi’s Tripura formula, Naveen said, “We (BJD) will do very well like I have said before.” It is notable to mention here that Naveen Patnaik had claimed that BJD would win all 21 Lok Sabha seats in Odisha and play kingmaker at Centre.

During his ‘Main Bhi Chowkidaar’ program in New Delhi’s Talkatora Stadium on Sunday, a fisherman Pabitra Parida from Kendrapara posed a question to Narendra Modi regarding Odisha via video conference. To this, Modi had replied, “A big surprise is definitely in store in the upcoming elections in Odisha. This time, Odisha will become the second Tripura.”

He also said that BJP was earlier considered weak in Odisha but now he is confident after seeing the enthusiasm among people of the State. Modi is further scheduled to address a public meeting in Kalahandi on April 2 and another in Sundergarh on April 6.
