Naveen Announces Rs 1.20 Cr For Cyclone Shelter In Kendrapada School

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced a grant of Rs 1.20 crore for building a cyclone shelter in a High School Kendrapada district. This is the school where National Bravery Award 2020 winners Sabita Giri and Purnima Giri are studying. The two girls will receive the award from President Ramnath Kovind on Republic Day.

Congratulating the two girls for their feat, Naveen announced the financial grant for a cyclone shelter in their school. The two girls had rescued 12 persons, including five children, from drowning following a boat tragedy in January last year.

Earlier, Naveen had honoured the two girls at Lok Seva Bhavan here. Naveen has directed officials to complete the construction of the cyclone shelter on a priority basis. Sources said, Sabita and Purnima will lay the foundation stone of the cyclone shelter.
