Bhubaneswar: It seems as if there is no respite from this merciless rain in the winter season as the Regional Meteorological Department here on Thursday has further predicted more rains, especially for the coastal and central part of Odisha.

Heavy rain has been predicted at one or two parts of coastal and central Odisha in the next 24 hours under the influence of a depression formed over Bay of Bengal, according to Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Bishnupada Sethi.

However, the pace of rainfall is likely to decrease from Friday as the depression is likely to weaken in the next 24 hours.

Puri recorded highest rainfall of 56 mm, whereas Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada recorded 52.3 mm and 44 mm respectively.
