Monsoon May Touch Kerala By June 8: IMD

Bhubaneswar: Monsoon may touch Kerala by June 8, while light to moderate rain to lash across parts of Odisha in the next 24 hours, informed sources from the Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Isolated rainfall is likely to occur in districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Bhadrak, Nayagarh, Khurda, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Balasore, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Thunderstorm along with gusty wind speed reaching 30 to 40 kmph warning has been issued for districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Balasore, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places of Koraput and Malkangiri districts.

There will be no change in maximum temperature in the next three to four days while temperature of 40 degree Celsius and above was recorded in districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Sundargarh.
