Modi Does Not Deserve A 2nd Term, Rahul Still Has To Mature: Naveen Patnaik

14 April 2019

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and supremo of Biju Janata Dal Naveen Patnaik, in an exclusive interview to a leading English news channel, has stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not deserve a second term as his promises have been unsuccessful and Rahul Gandhi still has to mature.

When asked about the President of Indian National Congress, he said, “He (Rahul) still has to mature.” Naveen also opined that a ‘healthy option’ for Rahul Gandhi is to concentrate on one particular State and work for that area for some years.

On being questioned about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, “Mr Vajpayee was one of the best Prime Ministers this country has had. Modi has not been successful. His promises on employment, irrigation, rail roads, etc. have not been followed through. I don’t think that he deserves a second term.”

He also sounded confident of Biju Janata Dal performing well this election. When asked about supporting any party at the Centre, he reiterated, “We will support whichever party that backs the just and legitimate demands of Odisha.”
