Mo Sarkar Initiative: 5T Secretary Pandian Inspects Kendrapara DHH

Kendrapara: Secretary Transformation and Initiatives (5T) VK Pandian continued with his surprise visits to districts one after the other to take stock of the healthcare system in the district headquarters hospitals (DHHs).

The senior IAS officer today visited the district headquarters hospital here to take stock of the implementation of 5T under the 'Mo Sarkar' initiative.

Pandian during the visit inspected various wards including the Medicine and Pediatric wards, outpatient departments, laboratories and free medicine distribution centre 'Niramaya' of the district hospital.

He inquired from patients and their relatives about problems faced by them if any and about the quality of services available at the healthcare facility.

Later, the 5T Secretary visited the under-construction upcoming district medical campus at Icchapur Samgudia. After inspecting the progress of the project he asked the officials to complete it within four months.

Pandian also visited the Baldevjew temple here to seek the blessings of the presiding deity of Kendrapara-Lord Baldevjew.

Before leaving Kendrapara he had a brief meeting with District Collector Samarth Verma at the Inspection Bungalow at Jantilo here.

Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, Verma said that they discussed about various deficiencies with regard to infrastructure while adding that the 5T Secretary has assured to fulfill those.

It may be mentioned here that  senior officials are touring government-run healthcare institutions to get grassroots-level feedback from the beneficiaries.

'Mo Sarkar' can be dubbed as one of the most ambitious initiatives launched by the Odisha CM. Under its ambit, the common man has been empowered to report negligence, dereliction in duty and unsavoury attitude of Government employees directly to the Chief Minister, Ministers and Department Heads.

The objective of the ‘Mo Sarkar’ programme is to provide service with dignity to people who are coming to hospitals, police stations and all other government offices for different purposes.

‘Mo Sarkar’  initiative was launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on October 2.
