Mo Sarkar Impact: Odisha Police Northern Range Reach Out To Public

27 October 2019

Bhubaneswar: On the eve of Diwali, Superintendents of Police (SP) of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sonepur and Balangir on Saturday visited the complainants at their homes to get their feedback about the experiences they had in the Police Stations when they had gone to lodge their FIR.

The initiative was launched in the Northern Range as a part of the MO SARKAR programme of the Government of Odisha, said an official communiqué by the Police. DIG and SPs visited the houses of complainants, greeted them, wished them on the eve of Diwali, and asked about the feedback they had about their interaction in the Police Station.

It was emphasised by DIG and SP that under the MO SARKAR initiative, complainant is at the centre. It was mentioned that how the complainant was treated in the Police Station and how his/her complaint was addressed are the two most important parameters on which performance is measured. The mission was to communicate the message- “Government to the doorstep rather than public to the closed doors.”

Complainants expressed satisfaction about the Police action in their cases and revealed that such steps by Police will definitely earn them kudos from public, said Police sources.
