Missing Matric OMR Sheets: Police Uncovers Headmaster's Revenge Bid, Arrests 3 Persons

Malkangiri: Malkangiri police arrested three persons today in connection with missing Matric OMR sheets from SSD High School in Podia area here. The cops have also uncovered a revenge bid behind the entire incident.

The arrested person are Jalandhar Behera, Head Master of Nabin Chandra High School, Gothanpally; Sandip Kumar Sahu, Nodal Observer; Satrughan Swain, Deputy Centre Superintendent, Govt. SSD High School, Podia.

According to the press note, students of Nabin Chandra High School were appearing for examination at SSD High School. Head master of Nabin Chandra High school Jalandhar Behera was angry on Bidyut Kumar Patra, Head Master of SSD High School, because he did not allow copying/cheating at the center.

When a friend of Jalandhar Behera, Sandip Kumar Sahu was appointed as "Nodal Observer" in the SSD High School, he took the opportunity to teach a lesson to Bidyut Kumar Patra. Sandip took Jalandhar inside the examination center and inside the Head Master's room where question papers and answer sheets were kept. Satrughan Swain, the Deputy Centre Superintendent of SSD High School, also criminally conspired with the accused persons with motive that he will become Head Master of the school if Bidyut Kumar Patra is removed over missing OMR sheets.

The accused persons have been arrested and were forwarded to the court today.

As many as 108 Mathematics OMR sheets went missing from the High School on Sunday. Board of Secondary Education president Jahan Ara Begum said that the board had directed the Block Education Officer to probe into the incident and lodge a complaint with the police.
