Miscreants Tie Up Security Guard & Loot Odisha Gramya Bank In Mayurbhanj

Mayurbhanj: A group of unidentified miscreants allegedly looted from Odisha Gramya Bank in Pratappur branch under Badasahi police limits here late last night after breaking open lock of the grille and tying up the security guard.

According to reports, three miscreants reached the spot and held the security guard of the panchayat office, situated behind the bank, as hostage at gunpoint. The security was tied up and his mouth was gagged as well. Then they proceeded to break open the grill and smash the window of the bank.

After the loot, the guard managed to tear the cello tape on his mouth and screamed for help. Locals reached the spot and informed the cops following which a scientific team began an investigation into the incident. The exact amount of cash looted is yet to be ascertained.

Meanwhile, villagers blocked Badasahi-Baripada road citing that multiple electric failures is the reason behind the loot.
