Minor Girl From Angul 'Gang-Raped' In Cuttack

Cuttack/Balasore: A 15-year-old girl from Bantala area of Angul district was allegedly gang raped by at least four persons in Cuttack over the past three days.

The girl escaped from the clutches of the perpetrators and was rescued near Cuttack railway station by local Childline officials.

On the basis of her written statement, Cuttack GRP have registered a FIR and started investigation into the case.

According to the survivor, she had come to the city to attend a rally along with a couple relatives. On Saturday and Sunday five unidentified neighbours barged into the house where she was stying, and raped her.

In a similar incident, a physically challeged girl was allegedly raped by her father's acquaintance in Balipal of Balasore district.

The incident took place when a person known to the girl's family had come to her house. Taking advantage of her condition and absence of her family, the man allegedly raped her.

The man was overpowered by locals who showed up at the spot hearing the cries of the girl. The man was handed over to police which has started investigation into the matter.
