Angul: A two-wheeler owner was fined Rs 26,000 for allowing a minor boy to drive his vehicle on a National Highway here today. The incident occurred at Jhimripali at Pallahara when Talcher RTO and local police were carrying out an enforcement drive.
During the drive, a boy driving a motorcycle was asked to produce his driving licence. As the boy failed to do so, it was ascertained that he was an underage driver. Later it was found that the vehicle belonged to the minor boy's neighbour.
The vehicle owner, Anil Kumar was slapped a fine as per the new MV Act which amounted to Rs 26,000. His vehicle was also seized.
