Mighty Amphan Dissipates As Depression, Leaving Behind Trail Of Destruction

Bhubaneswar: The Super Cyclonic Storm Amphan has quelled into a Deep Depression and Depression over Bangladesh. It moved north-northeastwards as a Cyclonic Storm with a speed of 6 kmph during past 6 hours.

It further weakened into a Deep Depression around noon time on Thursday, the Special Bulletin released by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar stated.

"It is very likely to continue to move north-northeastwards and weaken further into a Depression during next 06 hours and further into a well marked low thereafter."

At 5:30 pm today evening, Amphan was categorised as a Depression with wind speed of 30 to 40 kmph and gusts upto 50 kmph, the IMD bulletin released at 3 pm today read.
