Met Issues Thunderstorm & Lightning Alert For 10 Odisha Districts

Bhubaneswar: Latest satellite image indicate that thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind at one or two places and light to moderate rain is very likely to occur at some parts of 10 districts.

The districts are Sundergarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Jajpur. The warning has been issued between 10 am to 2 pm.

The Regional Met Department on Sunday had forecasted thundershower in some districts for next 4-5 days.

On 18th March, thunder storm with gusty wind and lightening is likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of north coastal Odisha including Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.

On 19th, light rain or thundershower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara and dry weather likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

On 20th, light rain or thunder-shower likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of coastal Odisha and Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Gajapati and Rayagada districts.

On 21st, thunder storm with gusty wind and lightning likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Dhenkanal and Cuttack.
